Hello there!

Hope you are having a pleasant start to your Sunday.

We celebrated 9 years of The Quad yesterday with our community and it was a blast. It was a great opportunity for our team to come together as well - that’s one of the joys of Sports Day. And that was the highlight personally - to glance at what two people scratching their itch can lead to. We are incredibly proud of the team that is with us and cannot wait to build more fun things for our community.

On to the 3 things for today. I’ve shortened it to be skim-worthy but posts #2 and #3 are meant to be thought about deeply after reading. Reading more and more without thought and action is pointless.

  1. on how to read food labels and confusing ingredient lists.

  2. on the easiest person to fool.

  3. on 9 years of The Quad.

on how to read food labels, and should we even bother?

This is definitely a confusing thing for most people. Well, here’s the gist of it.

  • If you are allergic to something, yeah, most definitely scan the label to find out if the thing you are allergic to is present here. You will need to know alternate ways that item can be represented.

  • If there are a zillion ingredients when there should be much lesser, be wary.

  • Sometimes there are unnecessary ingredients in some foods. For example, peanut butter needs only peanuts.

  • Don’t be scared by chemical-sounding names. It does not mean they are good or bad, or even natural or man-made. Those are just what they are called.

  • You don’t need to lose your head over labels.

For a bit more detail, you can read my post here.

on the easiest person to fool

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself and you are the easiest person to fool." - Richard P. Feynman

We over-think things. We expect convoluted solutions when simple and obvious ones are presented. We ask questions and when they are answered, we ask more questions.

Wrong steps can lead you to the right path. You just need to act. And keep your eyes and ears open to make adjustments.

But sitting on the armchair and pontificating will not get you anywhere. You will not sort out your health or fitness.

on 9 years of The Quad

Yesterday was a day of celebration at The Quad. With our community, we celebrated 9 years of the day that marks our first-ever class with our #GlobalSportsDay which was so much fun.

The last 9 years have had a lot of ups and downs, thankfully way more ups than downs. It has been of incredible growth, personally, and for the organisation as well. What makes it incredible is to be surrounded by a team of like-minded people who believe in the same mission and who were willing to take a risk and shift careers. A lot of us spend too much time doing things we are unhappy and that sets apart a lot of The Quad Squad in their willingness to take the hard step and to ask themselves the hard questions.

It has also been amazing to connect with so many incredible people in the community. People who allow me to be a part of their journey and teach me incredible lessons while thanking me for it - isn’t that fun! Sharing the joys of their growth, of them conquering their fears and discomfort, of transforming their identity - those are what makes this journey amazing.

The journey is better than the inn.

Last night, we were at the inn. We had a lot of fun.

Today, we continue on our journey. Coz it truly is better and here’s where stories are created.

And that’s it from me for this week. I am hoping to take 3-4 days off my computer, emails, and WhatsApp. Let’s see how that goes.
